Что можно сделать самому перед заказом сайта - Zen Webmaster

You do not need to know how to code before ordering a website. But a few simple things, prepared in advance, speed up the work considerably, make the quote more accurate and help you avoid unnecessary back and forth.

A good website does not start with buttons or colours. It starts with a clear picture: who you are, what you offer, who you help and what a visitor should do once they land on your page. Business owners usually understand this part better than any web professional; it just needs to be written down properly.

Materials for a website gathered in one place: notes, photos, prices, client questions, contact details
Gather this before you talk to your web professional, and the conversation becomes concrete straight away.

Your business: what you offer and to whom

  • A list of your services. Write it plainly, not decoratively: what you do, for whom, what result the client gets, and what you do not do. Not just “plumbing repairs”, but “emergency plumbing in flats, same-day call-outs, tap replacement”.
  • Who you help. Private clients or businesses, local customers or the whole country, and what matters most to them: price, speed or a guarantee. This keeps the text useful rather than generic.
  • Prices or a rough guide. Even if the exact price depends on an assessment, clients need something to go on: prices “from”, standard packages, what is included and what is billed separately.

What materials to gather

  • Frequently asked questions. Write down what clients actually ask: cost, turnaround time, whether there is a guarantee. If it comes up in real conversations, it belongs on the site.
  • Photos and materials. Logo, photos of your premises or completed work, project examples, reviews, old brochures. Not everything will make it onto the site, but it helps convey what your business does.
  • Contact details. Exact business name, address, phone number, e-mail, opening hours, service area, and links to Google Maps and social media. Mistakes here are among the most damaging: the site can look excellent, but if the phone number is outdated, enquiries simply disappear.
  • Examples of sites you like. Find three to five websites you like and explain why: structure, the first screen, photos, visible prices. Pointing out what you dislike saves time too.

What should happen after an enquiry

A website should lead to one clear action. Decide this in advance: should the client call, fill in a form, message on WhatsApp, book a table or pick a date. That choice determines which button, form and call-to-action text you need.

What you do not need to do yourself

There is no need to pick plugins yourself, dig into hosting, configure SSL, optimise caching or guess at an SEO structure. That is the technical side, and it belongs to your web professional. Preparation does not replace that work, but it does save money: with materials already gathered, there are fewer revisions, a clearer structure and a more reliable quote from the start.

When it is better to delegate

If you have the time, prepare everything yourself; it will also help you understand your own business better. But if you are already stretched between tasks, paperwork and the daily routine, building a website does not need to become a second job.

You can prepare the essentials, and Zen Webmaster takes care of the structure, the technical side, publishing, forms, the mobile version and ongoing support. A website should work for your business, not eat into what little free time you have left.
