Task and context

The project was carried out for the market:United Kingdom. This is important for the Zen Webmaster portfolio: the experience covers not only France, but also different countries, languages, payment scenarios, CMS and user expectations.

Long-term support for the PrestaShop furniture store: speed, checkout, SEO, product cards, PayPal, GDPR, SMTP and bug fixes based on tickets.

  • Adaptive multi-level (3-4 levels) drop-down menu instead of the standard full-screen one
  • Checkout improvements: required fields, removal of unnecessary address fields, Apple Pay and PayPal buttons in the cart sidebar
  • Speed optimization and Core Web Vitals: critical CSS, work with caching (including Prerender.io for SEO rendering to bots), acceleration of TTFB and product page loading
  • SEO: titles for paginated category pages, meta tags, alt texts, working with robots meta, 301 redirects, troubleshooting problems in SEMrush
  • Customization of the product card: accordion instead of tabs on the mobile version, drop-down description “Read more”, compact list of characteristics instead of a table
  • Correction of the “Share/Save Cart” module for a custom cart
  • Fixing a PayPal Express bug (incorrectly leaving orders in Backorder)
  • Resolving a conflict between a third-party analytics script and the GDPR Compliance Pro module
  • Mail setup (SMTP via Google Workspace), separation of sender addresses
  • Analysis and correction of many ticket bugs in Trello (abandoned cart reminder module, currency conversion, category sorting, order statuses, etc.)

What does this case show?

International experience

The project is related to the market: Great Britain. In such tasks, the interface language, local user habits and careful technical implementation are important.

Technical base

The work was carried out on the platform: PrestaShop. The focus was on stability, support and the ability to develop the site further.

Practical result

The case is useful as an example of work in the format: technical support and development of an existing website (not our own development from scratch). This is not only the launch, but also maintenance, development or complex technical modifications.

This case is published in English. The external link opens in a new tab and does not pass SEO weight to the client site by default.
