Website creation

Website creation for small businesses in France

A site that does a clear job: presents your services, collects enquiries and still works six months later. Buy it outright, or rent it with an option to buy and spread the cost.

When it makes sense

Creating a site is not useful to everyone, nor at every moment. These are the situations where it is.

The business is starting

You need a first site: services, prices, contact details and an enquiry form. Nothing superfluous, but something you are happy to link to.

The current site gets in the way

Old, slow, unreadable on a phone, or impossible to edit without a developer. Rebuilding is often cheaper than repairing.

Visitors leave without asking

They arrive and go: the offer is unclear, or the form does not work. Structure fixes that, not advertising.

Several languages are needed

In France you often need French plus your customers’ language. Multilingual support belongs in the plan from day one.

The budget will not cover it all

Then the site is rented: installation, a monthly fee, buy-out after a year. A decent site now beats a perfect site in two years.

Booking or a catalogue is needed

Online appointments, a product catalogue, a page per service – when you need a working tool rather than a business card.

What the work includes

Not a list of technologies, but what actually happens before launch.

  • Research: who your customer is, what they look for, in which words, and what should happen on the site
  • Structure: which pages are needed, what goes on each and how someone reaches the enquiry form
  • Design in your colours, adapted to phones, with readable typography
  • Copy: written from scratch or reworked from yours, without filler
  • Enquiry forms whose messages actually arrive and do not land in spam
  • Basic SEO: titles, descriptions, sitemap, markup, Search Console
  • Legal pages under French rules: privacy, cookies, mentions légales
  • Speed and security: caching, image compression, HTTPS, backups

Two routes to a website

The difference is in how it is paid for. The work itself is the same.

Buy it outright

You pay for the build once and the site is yours from day one: files, database, access. The amount depends on the number of pages, the languages and whether a shop or a booking system is involved. It is costed during the starter consultation.

Rent with an option to buy

An installation fee, then a monthly payment covering hosting, maintenance, updates and backups. After 12 months the site can be bought at a price known in advance.

How the work goes

1

A conversation

Half an hour about the project: your business, your customers, what already exists. Free, no commitment.

2

Plan and quote

Site structure, timeline and cost. You see what you are paying for before work starts.

3

The build

Design, pages, copy, forms. I show progress instead of disappearing for a month.

4

Checks and launch

Phone and desktop, forms, speed, legal pages. Only then does the site open to search engines.

What it looks like in practice

Two recent projects built from nothing, from research to launch.

Frequently asked questions

What does a website cost

Bought outright, it is costed per project: a five-page site and a three-hundred-product shop are not the same work. Rented, the figures above are known in advance.

How long does it take

A small service website takes one to three weeks, depending on how quickly copy and photos arrive. A shop takes longer.

Do I need to supply the copy

No. Bring what you have, or start from nothing – then I write and you check the facts and prices.

What is it built on

Usually WordPress: it is widely known, easy to find another developer for, and you are not tied to me forever. PrestaShop for a shop.

Will I be able to edit it myself

Yes, that is built in from the start. Text, prices and photos change from the admin area without a developer.

What about domain and hosting

I help you choose and set them up. Register the domain in your own name rather than the contractor’s: it stays yours whatever happens.

What happens after launch

The site can stay on maintenance: updates, backups, form checks. Or you take it over, and I show you what to watch.

Can the site be multilingual

Yes. It is better planned at the start: adding it later costs more than doing it straight away.

Do you do advertising and SEO

Basic SEO is part of the build: structure, titles, speed, sitemap. Paid advertising is not what I do.

Can we just talk first

Yes, the first conversation is free. For a more complex case there is the starter consultation with a written summary.

Tell me about your business

Two sentences are enough to tell which kind of site fits and roughly what it costs.
